Awards: Karina won the "First Americans in the Arts" award as a Native American actress for her role in "Wide Sargasso Sea."

Karina Lombard, who played Marina on Showtime's hit series, The L Word, was born in Tahiti, and moved to Spain at the age of one with her father. After attending a number of private boarding schools and living throughout Europe, where she became fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, French, and German, Karina settled in New York.

Lombard began modeling, dancing, and acting at New York City's Gallery Theatres and the Neighborhood Playhouse Theatre. Her training at the Strasberg Institute and the Actors Studio prepared her for her many stage performances. Karina's screen roles to date have been small but memorable performances in high-profile films such as The Doors , Legends of the Fall , and The Firm.

Karina is also an accomplished musician, singer, and writer, who at present has a music project in development with Cirque Du Soleil., and a new CD.
